One of the most common mistakes made when addressing mold, fungal growth, and microbial contamination is focusing solely on chemical treatment. While cleaning and treating affected surfaces is an important part of the process, it does not address the root cause of the problem. If moisture and humidity levels remain uncontrolled, microbial growth can quickly return.

At Crawlspace Titans, we believe in providing long-term solutions rather than temporary fixes. That's why our approach begins with identifying and correcting the environmental conditions that allow fungal growth to thrive. In most crawl spaces, excessive moisture and elevated humidity levels are the primary contributors to mold and microbial activity.

To restore this crawl space, our team first performed a complete cleanout of the area. We removed debris and unwanted materials that can trap moisture and create conditions favorable for fungal growth. Once the crawl space was thoroughly cleaned, we completed a comprehensive fungal remediation process to address affected surfaces throughout the space.

After remediation was complete, we installed a full crawl space encapsulation system. Crawl space encapsulation is one of the most effective ways to control moisture, improve indoor air quality, and protect the structural components of a home. By sealing the crawl space from the earth and outside air, we create a controlled environment that helps prevent future moisture problems.

To further enhance moisture control, we installed an Aprilaire dehumidifier. This high-performance system is designed to maintain humidity levels at approximately 55%, helping to create conditions that are unfavorable for fungal and microbial growth. Proper humidity control is essential for maintaining a healthy crawl space and protecting the investment homeowners make in their property.

The benefits of crawl space encapsulation extend far beyond mold prevention. Homeowners often notice improved indoor air quality, reduced odors, increased energy efficiency, and greater comfort throughout the home. In many cases, encapsulation can also help protect wood framing and structural components from moisture-related damage.

At Crawlspace Titans, our commitment to our clients doesn't end when the installation is complete. We believe that our customers are more than just another project, they are families who trust us with one of their most valuable investments: their home. That's why we frequently offer ongoing service and maintenance plans designed to provide long-term peace of mind.

Through our annual service program, our technicians return to inspect the crawl space, evaluate system performance, monitor humidity levels, and identify any potential concerns before they become costly problems. This proactive approach helps ensure that the crawl space remains clean, dry, and healthy for years to come.

If you're experiencing musty odors, elevated humidity, mold concerns, allergy symptoms, or moisture issues in your home, your crawl space may be the source. Contact Crawlspace Titans today to schedule a professional crawl space inspection and learn how our crawl space encapsulation, mold remediation, and moisture control solutions can help protect your home, improve your indoor air quality, and give you confidence in the health of your living environment.

After completing a thorough inspection, our specialist recommended extending the home’s downspouts to properly divert roof water away from the foundation and reduce moisture intrusion along the perimeter. The existing damaged vapor barrier was removed, and a full fungal cleaning was performed to disinfect and restore the crawlspace. Following the cleaning, a new white vapor barrier was installed and securely sealed to prevent ground moisture from entering the crawlspace.

The homeowner now has a cleaner, drier crawlspace with improved moisture control. We will continue to monitor the home, and if elevated moisture or fungal growth persists, we have outlined a future plan to upgrade the space with a full crawlspace encapsulation and dehumidifier for long-term protection.

After a detailed crawlspace inspection, we identified multiple underlying issues affecting both the structure and overall health of the home. The floors were out of level due to inadequate support, so we recommended and installed a reinforced support system using power posts along with precision shimming. This process helped restore stability, improve floor levelness, and protect the long-term structural integrity of the home.

In addition to structural concerns, we found significant water intrusion along the foundation walls. Standing water in a crawlspace is one of the leading causes of mold and fungal growth, wood rot, and poor indoor air quality. To solve this, we installed a full perimeter interior drainage system with a sump pump to effectively capture and redirect water away from the home, keeping the crawlspace dry year round.

Due to prolonged moisture exposure, there was also extensive fungal growth throughout the crawlspace. Our team performed a full fungal remediation, removing and treating affected areas to create a cleaner, healthier environment.

To prevent future issues, we completed a full crawlspace encapsulation using a durable vapor barrier system, installed a high performance dehumidifier to control humidity levels, and added a new insulated crawlspace door to properly seal the space.

If you’re dealing with crawlspace moisture, uneven floors, or foundation concerns in Mount Juliet, TN or the surrounding Middle Tennessee area, our team provides proven solutions for crawlspace repair, waterproofing, and encapsulation.

To ensure the radon mitigation system would function optimally, the existing vapor barrier was professionally sealed along the foundation walls and piers. Once the crawl space was fully sealed, we installed the new radon system to effectively exhaust hazardous gases from the crawl space and essentially the living areas.

During our inspection, we discovered moisture intrusion in two separate areas of the crawlspace, along with visible fungal growth on sections of the subfloor and floor joists. To address the water intrusion, we recommended installing two separate sump pump systems along with interior drainage systems. These drainage systems capture and direct any incoming water to the sump pumps so it can be removed from the crawlspace immediately.

We also performed a full fungal remediation within the crawlspace. This included removing contaminated debris, cleaning the affected structural components, and installing a new sealed vapor barrier to help reduce moisture vapor entering the space.

To further control humidity levels and help prevent future fungal growth, we installed a high-performance crawlspace dehumidifier designed to maintain proper humidity levels beneath the home.

As part of our inspection process, we always evaluate exterior conditions that may contribute to crawlspace moisture. In this case, we recommended cleaning the gutters and repairing the downspout drainage system. The existing downspout had been damaged by a weed trimmer, preventing it from properly directing water away from the home. We replaced the damaged connection with durable PVC piping and ensured the downspout was properly tied into the buried drainage line to carry water away from the foundation.

During the remediation process, we also placed a HEPA air scrubber inside the living space to help filter and remove airborne mold spores or fungal particles while work was being completed in the crawlspace.

These combined improvements helped eliminate the moisture issues, improve air quality, and create a healthier environment for the occupants of the home.

I called to schedule a crawl space inspection because I've had water intrusion and high humidity under the house, and the company scheduled an inspection and will send a confirmation text.
Aaron W.

I'm buying a house and scheduled a crawl space inspection to investigate moisture intrusion, possible prior fungal staining on joists, and a partially broken concrete block; I sent inspection photos so the inspector can review before the visit.
