Job completed for Denise H.

Completion date: May 18, 2026

Location: Mt Juliet, TN

Why did the customer contact us?

When a homeowner in Mount Juliet, Tennessee began experiencing severe allergy symptoms inside her home, she knew something wasn't right. After investigating potential causes, she contacted Crawlspace Titans to perform a comprehensive crawl space inspection and identify any underlying issues that could be affecting her indoor air quality. During our inspection, we discovered fungal and microbial growth throughout the crawl space. We also found concentrated growth near air duct penetrations in the floor system, which can allow contaminated air from the crawl space to impact the living areas above.  Many homeowners are surprised to learn that the air in their crawl space can directly affect the air they breathe every day inside their home.

Solutions provided:

One of the most common mistakes made when addressing mold, fungal growth, and microbial contamination is focusing solely on chemical treatment. While cleaning and treating affected surfaces is an important part of the process, it does not address the root cause of the problem. If moisture and humidity levels remain uncontrolled, microbial growth can quickly return.

At Crawlspace Titans, we believe in providing long-term solutions rather than temporary fixes. That's why our approach begins with identifying and correcting the environmental conditions that allow fungal growth to thrive. In most crawl spaces, excessive moisture and elevated humidity levels are the primary contributors to mold and microbial activity.

To restore this crawl space, our team first performed a complete cleanout of the area. We removed debris and unwanted materials that can trap moisture and create conditions favorable for fungal growth. Once the crawl space was thoroughly cleaned, we completed a comprehensive fungal remediation process to address affected surfaces throughout the space.

After remediation was complete, we installed a full crawl space encapsulation system. Crawl space encapsulation is one of the most effective ways to control moisture, improve indoor air quality, and protect the structural components of a home. By sealing the crawl space from the earth and outside air, we create a controlled environment that helps prevent future moisture problems.

To further enhance moisture control, we installed an Aprilaire dehumidifier. This high-performance system is designed to maintain humidity levels at approximately 55%, helping to create conditions that are unfavorable for fungal and microbial growth. Proper humidity control is essential for maintaining a healthy crawl space and protecting the investment homeowners make in their property.

The benefits of crawl space encapsulation extend far beyond mold prevention. Homeowners often notice improved indoor air quality, reduced odors, increased energy efficiency, and greater comfort throughout the home. In many cases, encapsulation can also help protect wood framing and structural components from moisture-related damage.

At Crawlspace Titans, our commitment to our clients doesn't end when the installation is complete. We believe that our customers are more than just another project, they are families who trust us with one of their most valuable investments: their home. That's why we frequently offer ongoing service and maintenance plans designed to provide long-term peace of mind.

Through our annual service program, our technicians return to inspect the crawl space, evaluate system performance, monitor humidity levels, and identify any potential concerns before they become costly problems. This proactive approach helps ensure that the crawl space remains clean, dry, and healthy for years to come.

If you're experiencing musty odors, elevated humidity, mold concerns, allergy symptoms, or moisture issues in your home, your crawl space may be the source. Contact Crawlspace Titans today to schedule a professional crawl space inspection and learn how our crawl space encapsulation, mold remediation, and moisture control solutions can help protect your home, improve your indoor air quality, and give you confidence in the health of your living environment.
