We recently completed a full crawlspace encapsulation project in Nashville that transformed the home’s environment from damp and contaminated to clean, dry, and protected. The project began with the removal of all contaminated insulation and the worn vapor barrier, followed by a thorough two-step scrub and fungal treatment of the subfloor and joists. Once the surfaces were restored, the crawlspace was fully encapsulated with a durable 20-mil vapor barrier, and all entry points were sealed to ensure lasting protection. To control humidity levels, we installed a 100 PPD dehumidifier with a condensation pump that discharges to the exterior. Finally, we improved exterior water management by extending and burying downspouts with a pop-up drain to direct water safely away from the foundation. This comprehensive solution not only prevents fungal growth and structural damage but also provides the homeowner with a healthier, more energy-efficient living environment.
