Why did the customer contact us?

The client contacted us due to concerns regarding a moldy odor in their living space and excessive moisture discovered in the crawl space.

Solutions provided:

We initially inspected the crawl space and confirmed that the source of the moldy odor was excessive moisture intrusion, a frequent issue in Tennessee homes, particularly those situated on the side of a large hill where groundwater runoff is a constant challenge. To permanently address the water entry and prevent future microbial growth, we implemented a robust, multi-step system. First, for water management, we installed our Titans Interior Drainage System along the crawl space perimeter to intercept and collect incoming water, channeling it directly to a new, high-capacity sump pump system that ensures rapid removal and safe discharge away from the foundation.

Following drainage installation, we performed a full fungal cleaning and remediation to eliminate existing mold and spores contributing to the interior smell. For long-term protection, we installed a complete crawl space encapsulation system by sealing the walls and floor with a durable vapor barrier, and introduced a new dehumidifier to regulate humidity and maintain a consistently dry environment, thereby controlling future fungal growth. Lastly, we installed a new, secure crawl space access door to protect the home from unwanted pests and outdoor elements. This comprehensive approach ensured the moisture source was eliminated, the existing contamination was removed, and the environment was controlled for a healthy, odor-free living space above.  

The homeowner instantly noticed a change in their air quality and were very happy with the results.
