Why did the customer contact us?
The homeowner contacted us to inspect their crawlspace due to concerns about possible mold growth. During the consultation, they also expressed interest in crawlspace encapsulation and the installation of a French drain system at the rear of the home to protect against hillside water intrusion.
Solutions provided:
During our inspection, we discovered heavy fungal growth throughout the entire crawlspace. Based on these findings, we recommended a full fungal treatment followed by complete crawlspace encapsulation to prevent future moisture related growth.
Due to the size of the crawlspace and existing access limitations, two commercial-grade dehumidifier systems were recommended and installed to ensure proper humidity control throughout the entire area.
To address water intrusion from the surrounding hillside, our team designed and installed a full-length French drain system at the rear of the home. Because the property slopes uphill on both sides, this portion of the project required extensive excavation. We installed a deep drainage system using properly sized piping and precise grading to ensure water is effectively captured and redirected away from the foundation, discharging safely to the side of the home.
The combination of full encapsulation, professional moisture control, and an engineered drainage solution will significantly improve the overall health of the home while reducing the risk of future mold growth creating a safer, healthier environment for the family moving forward.
