Why did the customer contact us?
The homeowner contacted Crawlspace Titans after their previous crawlspace contractor had already performed work, but the home unfortunately failed a follow-up inspection. Concerned about moving forward with the sale of their home, the client reached out to us after their realtor, who had successfully worked with our team in the past, recommended Crawlspace Titans for a professional evaluation.
Thanks to our home inspection background, we were able to identify areas that needed improvement and provide practical solutions that would help the home meet inspection standards and keep the sale moving forward.
Solutions provided:
During our assessment, we discovered minor moisture penetration at the base of the foundation walls. While the moisture level was not severe, it was enough to affect the blown-in insulation along the foundation wall, allowing moisture vapor to travel upward into the crawlspace environment.
To address the issue, we recommended partial encapsulation to properly seal the crawlspace and control moisture vapor. In addition, we upgraded the vapor barrier system. The previous contractor had installed two different types of vapor barrier materials, which reduced both the durability and overall appearance of the system.
Our team installed one continuous, high-strength vapor barrier throughout the crawlspace, creating a cleaner, more durable, and professional installation. This improvement not only enhanced moisture protection but also significantly improved the overall presentation and structural integrity of the crawlspace for the next home inspection.
By correcting these issues and upgrading the crawlspace system, we helped position the homeowner for a successful inspection and smoother home sale process.
