Why did the customer contact us?
This project came to us when a client was relocating from out of state to Hohenwald. After their home inspection, they wanted peace of mind knowing the crawlspace was properly addressed and that the home would be protected from future moisture and structural issues.
Solutions provided:
Following a thorough crawlspace inspection, we recommended a complete moisture control system, including full crawlspace encapsulation, exterior drainage improvements, and humidity control under the home. Like many homes in Middle Tennessee, this property showed signs of excess moisture and conditions that could lead to fungal growth if left untreated. Our team performed a full crawlspace encapsulation, which included installing a high-quality vapor barrier to seal off ground moisture. We also completed a fungal remediation cleaning, removed debris throughout the crawlspace, and improved overall conditions to create a clean, controlled environment. To further protect the home, we installed buried downspout extensions to move water safely away from the foundation. This not only helps prevent water from re-entering the crawlspace, but also gives the homeowner a clean, low-maintenance solution, no pipes laying in the yard to move when mowing or maintaining the property.
Due to the high humidity levels common in Howenwald, Tennessee, we also installed a professional-grade AprilAire dehumidifier to regulate moisture levels year-round. This system efficiently removes excess humidity and drains it safely to the exterior, helping prevent mold, wood rot, and poor air quality inside the home. By combining crawlspace encapsulation, drainage control, and dehumidification, we created a long-term solution designed to protect both the structure of the home and the health of the homeowner. Moisture and fungal growth in crawlspaces can lead to serious structural and air quality concerns, so addressing these issues early is key.
To ensure ongoing protection, the homeowner also enrolled in our annual preventative maintenance program. Most homeowners have no interest in crawling under their home to monitor conditions, and understandably so. Our annual service plan is designed to take that burden off their shoulders by ensuring the crawlspace encapsulation system, drainage components, and dehumidifier continue to operate properly year after year. With routine inspections and maintenance, we help catch small issues before they become costly problems, giving homeowners long-term peace of mind and protecting their investment for years to come.
