Job completed for Darren S.

Completion date: April 30, 2026

Location: Bell Buckle, TN

Why did the customer contact us?

The new homeowner in Bell Buckle, Tennessee contacted us after a home inspection identified concerns within the crawlspace during the purchase process. Our evaluation confirmed elevated moisture levels beneath the home, a condition that can lead to fungal growth, wood deterioration, and long-term foundation stress if not properly addressed.

Solutions provided:

To correct these issues, we recommended and installed a new, heavy-duty white vapor barrier to replace the existing damaged liner, significantly improving ground moisture control. A full crawlspace fungal treatment was also completed to remediate existing growth and help restore a healthier environment under the home.

During our inspection, we identified specific low-lying areas where water was consistently collecting. In these locations, we installed a targeted drainage system designed to capture and redirect groundwater to a newly installed sump pump. This system now actively removes water from beneath the home and discharges it safely away from the structure, preventing future accumulation.

We also addressed a major contributing factor to the moisture problem: the home’s roof drainage system. Several downspouts were discharging water directly beside the foundation, allowing excess moisture to enter the crawlspace. We extended and buried all downspout lines, creating a clean, low-maintenance drainage solution that carries roof runoff well away from the home. This eliminates the need for above-ground extensions that can interfere with yard maintenance and landscaping.

With these combined improvements, moisture barrier replacement, fungal treatment, interior drainage, sump pump installation, and corrected roof runoff management, the crawlspace is now protected with a comprehensive water control system designed to safeguard the home for years to come.
