Completion date: May 19, 2026

Location: Murfreesboro, TN

Why did the customer contact us?

When this homeowner in Murfreesboro purchased his new home, he wanted to make sure every issue noted during the home inspection was handled correctly and professionally. Like many homeowners, he understood that moisture problems in a crawlspace can quickly turn into expensive structural and air-quality issues if they are ignored. After finding  Crawlspace Titans on Facebook, he contacted our team to perform a full crawlspace inspection and provide permanent solutions for the problems discovered beneath the home.

Solutions provided:

Once our team arrived at the property in Murfreesboro, we completed a detailed inspection of the crawlspace and immediately identified clear signs of long-term moisture intrusion. Excessive moisture had accumulated throughout the crawlspace environment, creating conditions that allowed fungal growth to develop on organic materials beneath the home. The elevated humidity and moisture exposure had also caused significant damage to the existing vapor barrier and insulation system. Portions of the insulation were contaminated and no longer functioning properly, while the vapor barrier had deteriorated and was no longer protecting the crawlspace from ground moisture.

At Crawlspace Titans, we believe it is extremely important not only to treat fungal growth, but also to correct the underlying moisture issues that caused the problem in the first place. Simply cleaning fungal growth without addressing the source of moisture will almost always lead to recurring problems. Moisture is one of the leading causes of crawlspace damage in homes throughout Middle Tennessee, and if left untreated, it can contribute to wood rot, musty odors, poor indoor air quality, higher energy bills, and even structural concerns over time.

To properly restore this crawlspace, we recommended a complete fungal remediation process along with the removal of all contaminated insulation and damaged vapor barrier materials. Our team performed a professional two-step cleaning and fungal treatment process designed to remove and sanitize affected organic materials throughout the crawlspace. This process helps restore the crawlspace environment while preparing the area for long-term moisture protection.

After completing the remediation work, we focused on permanently controlling the moisture entering the crawlspace. We installed a sump pump system at the low point of the crawlspace to efficiently collect and discharge groundwater and unwanted moisture away from the home. This is a critical component in keeping crawlspaces dry and protected during heavy rains and seasonal moisture changes common in Tennessee.
Next, we completed a full crawlspace encapsulation system to isolate the crawlspace from ground moisture and outside humidity. The encapsulation system was paired with a professional-grade dehumidifier designed specifically for crawlspaces. The dehumidifier continuously removes excess humidity from the air and directs collected moisture to the sump pump system for efficient drainage. Together, these systems create a controlled and healthy crawlspace environment.

Our team also sealed the crawlspace vents and installed a brand-new crawlspace door. The old crawlspace door had allowed outside air and water intrusion into the crawlspace, contributing heavily to the moisture problems beneath the home. Properly sealing the crawlspace is one of the most important steps in creating a clean, energy-efficient, and protected environment under the home.

By the time the project was completed, the transformation was incredible. The homeowner’s crawlspace went from a damp, contaminated environment to a clean, dry, and healthy space that now looks almost brand new. More importantly, the home is now protected against future moisture-related issues for many years to come.

At  Crawlspace Titans, we take pride in helping homeowners throughout Tennessee protect their homes from moisture damage, fungal growth, standing water, and crawlspace structural concerns. If you are purchasing a home, dealing with musty odors, sagging insulation, standing water, or high humidity in your crawlspace, our team is ready to help with honest inspections and permanent solutions.
